So I am almost a month into this journey to being healthy and I must say I feel like it is starting to take its toll. By this I don’t mean I am giving up or anything, I think my body has been through the shock stage and the aches and pains are starting. My legs seem to take longer to recover between sessions and I am really struggling with my back after training as well.
But these are no excuses. The bottom line is, I am losing weight and feeling a lot better in myself. The most important thing of all is that I am really enjoying it! Believe it or not but I am also starting to enjoy the spinning classes.
As you will have read in my last blog, I use a My Zone belt to track my workouts and how I am doing. It sent me an email last week changing my settings, presumably to make it harder for me to hit the required numbers to get fitter! I have also linked this to my trainers group so I can see how I am doing and try to be “top of the league” he has running!
When it comes to training I have started personal training awith an instructor at Bannatynes in Rotherham. I do half an hour every week and for the last 2 weeks we have been boxing. God I love this. I can take out all my frustrations and built up rage and let it go whilst getting fit! I had a big shoulder operation a few years ago and I can certainly feel it during the sessions but I know it is good for me and I can feel it getting stronger every day!
One of the things I thrive on is competition. I love trying to be the best I can be and better what I have done before. Being part of this group will certainly help this and spur me on.
Got a full week of training planned before ending the week with a PT session on my 39th Birthday! No rest for the wicked.
The bottom line is that I need to push through this barrier and keep going. I am 40 in almost exactly a year and there is no way I am going to miss my goal!
One thing I did want to mention and get some opinions on is that I am probably going to start a video diary of this journey. Please subscribe to my You Tube Channel and have a look.
Until next Time…
