Yesterday was Amy’s 22nd birthday and we hag a great evening. A lovely lasagna for tea with Amy, Gill and a couple of Amy’s mates before they departed for a few drinks and we settled down.
I sat there after tidying up as much as possible and to be honest I felt shattered. I had been up since 5.30 that morning to get to a networking event and I was just exhausted. I said to Sam:
“I think I will give spin a miss in the morning. I’m really tired”
What was wrong with me. 10pm and I’m tired and already moaning about something which had not happened yet.
A short swift response from Sam of: “don’t do that you’re doing really well” gave me the reality check that I needed.
5.30am this morning the alarm went off and I was dreading the class.
Last week was my first ever spin class and didn’t know what to expect. I left that one thinking, stuff this, I’m never going again, they are just nuts. I was struggling to walk, breathe and when I got home I smashed at least 2 cups and a plate because I was in a mess. It took till Sunday night for me to fully recover, but I did it. Not only did I do it but I gave it my best.
So this week, I was tired, and knew what was coming, hence my dread. On the positive was my trainer, Phil, was taking the class so he knew my limits. I had a boxing session with him on Wednesday evening and loved it. I got to the gym a bit early this morning as I thought a brisk walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes would help get the blood moving in my legs. It did work and I could walk a little better after the class!
6.30am came and BOOM! I’m on it, peddling away! I got through the class and again gave it my all. I honestly felt better this week and hope I feel that little bit better next week as well!
I am so glad I went and didn’t bin it off!!!
I also use a My Zone belt which tracks what I achieve in a session. I will start posting screen shots of my work out session to show you what I achieve. This link will give you more information on the belt:
Below are the workouts from my first spin class last Friday and todays as well as my PT session on Wednesday.
Thanks for joining me on this journey!
Until Next Time…
