There is no doubt that Social media is the hot topic when to comes to business marketing and getting your message out there. It has now got to the point that it is essential for every business to have and continually monitor Social Media to look for opportunities, drive traffic to website and to ensure that one disgruntled customer is filling your time line with complaints that bypass your desk and are in the public domain.
The key term above for me is “Drive Traffic”. It is physically impossible to put everything on Social Media that your company can do, the services you provide etc. And to be honest, why would you? That’s what your website is for. More often than not, when I go and meet people and businesses with either with my Print hat or web hat (Usually both though) the first thing they want to discuss is Social Media and how they can take advantage. My first response on every occasion is ” let’s have a look at your website first” (Of course I have already done this prior to the meeting.).
The state of a business website will dictate how to use your social media effectively. There are plenty of companies out there who can “manage your social media”. Some are very good and some are not. The good ones will give you the same advice.
Your website is your window to the world. It showcases your business, what you do, what your customers think and, occasionally, you personally. A vast number of websites these days have a meet the team page with photos. These can be very effective and give a personal touch to both current and potential clients visiting your site. Everyone like to put a face to a name.
There is absolutely no point putting together a social media marketing strategy based on driving traffic to your website if your website is old, slow, contains out of date information, broken links, poorly designed, boring etc., etc., etc. The list is endless. We have worked with clients who have serious issues with their website that they did not even know about! Problems ranging from comments containing inappropriate language to links to pages that no longer exist and much more.
Here at Expert web we are embarking on a campaign to get things right at the base level. We want to get the message out to all businesses of the importance of a decent website and the magnitude of benefits that can bring to your business; and these days to build a top end website that does your business justice is not expensive.
