One of the most common objections most print sales people I speak with get is “We don’t print anything anymore”.
That honestly can’t be true.
I would stick my neck out and say that every company almost without exception uses business cards. Have a look at my earlier blog on how to use these correctly.
Every company uses Letterheads, Marketing Material, NCR pads and much more. So yes, whether they want to believe it or not, they do use print and print is essential in the business world.
Now we have established print is essential to all businesses, the next thing to look at is what it costs. This again is simple, Print can be as expensive or cost effective as you wish to make it. All factors add to the cost of print. How it is printed, finishing specifications, paper stocks, turnaround time required, artwork etc. etc. etc.…. To compete in a very competitive market we continually invest in the latest printing technology. This enables us to keep our prices low and our quality high.
What has changed the print market is magazine printing and tablet computers. The days of subscribing to specialist magazines and receiving it through the post have all but gone. You are still going to get your OK magazines and alike printed on mass but smaller run magazines, not so much. These days they are downloads and read on tablets. The print companies who specialised in printing these publications and mailing them in short to mid run quantities have had to re-invent themselves and put the presses to other uses for other material. Ill elaborate more on this in a later blog.
Printed material, especially that is being used in marketing, is not something that should be “scrimped” on, nor is it something that should cost an absolute fortune. It is something that just needs to be right, as often it is the first impression a client gets of you and your business. It needs to work for you and your business.
