As another weekend comes to an end, on reflection it has been both productive and enlightening.
The weekend started on Friday after a day at the St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse for the 250th running of the Doncaster Cup. This was our works annual corporate day so it mean’t no drinking and, well gambling is not really my thing anyway. I always love going and entertaining our guests though it this event tends to attract a decent crowd.
Saturday was mostly about Football. Supporting Rotherham United is pure agony sometimes. On Saturday it was the turn of Bristol City to visit the New York Stadium. They are another club that has under-achieved in recent history and are now back in the Championship with a Big Budget and a good squad of players, some Premiership calibre.
To cut a long story really short, on 58 mins we are 2-0 up. At the final whistle it is 2 all have had our net pounded for 90 mins. The match stats from Sky Sports are incredible. all of then are summed up in the fact we only has 23% possession.
I am always one to look for the positives and the bottom line is we go a point which might not have been the case if our keeper hadn’t been on fire.
Saturday evening was just a chill with Sam and Sunday brought more tidying and productiveness on the house.
My day started with a full car valet as my VW CC was disgusting inside and out. I even cleaned and treated the leather! Following this was a clear out of Lucy’s office and Bedroom. A mammoth job!
We have been on with the house refurbishment for about 3-4 months now and it is finally coming to an end at last! I am not sure we could get much more rubbish in the garden anyway!
Skip is ordered for next weekend for the final clear out before Sam’s graduation party!
I did however give the garden a bit of a trim.
If anyone has any tips for sorting my lawn, please feel free to share them.
On anther note, I am starting to miss the caravan a bit. We have not been for a while so I am looking forward to getting back to Far Grange in October!
Whilst I am on with Far Grange, I want to take the opportunity to wish Mick & Alison a very happy 33rd Wedding anniversay!
I have a busy few weeks at work coming up and really looking forward to delivering some huge projects that I have been working on for a while. More to come on these!
Until Next Time…
