The title says it all really so I will get the negatives out the way first.
About a year ago for now I had possibly one of the worst weekends of my life. An unfortunate drunken incident at Far Grange, a pack of lies fed by someone at the park and a helpful director who was at complete arms length lead to a 6 month ban for me. My Holiday Home, Sam’s solace and Lucy’s Friends taken away in an instant. Incase you were wondering, It was not me who caused an issue.
At the time I was furious, possibly overreacted to certain people but it did change my perspective and outlook on life in general. 6 Months later we were back, held our heads high and let the gossip wash of our backs because the people talking obviously had nothing better to do with their time. Great decision on our part!
Roll on 12 months and some things are still sent to try us. I constantly hear stories from people close to me about the way people take advantage of others, especially decent people who go the extra mile (when they themselves are not prepared to). This astounds me. But the question is why they don’t go the extra mile. Are they not prepared to? Do they not know what they are doing? Are they trying to cover their failings? I can’t answer these questions and I am sure the people concerned won’t.
Anyway, my new outlook on life means that I let these people wash off my back and try to help Sam think the same way when we encounter them.
12 Months later and things are good, really good! Sam and I are happier than ever. Amy is happy and settled and we are off to get Lucy tomorrow from my parents where she has been for a week. We have some great friends and life is good. Yes we could use a little more money and yes we have a few other things we need to sort but together we can get through anything.
I just mentioned that we are off to Mum & Dads to get Lucy. Mum & Dad live in a town called Wallingford. This Saturday they have their annual Bunkfest. What is Bunkfest you ask. My honest answer is, I have absolutely no idea but in 48 hours I will and I will let you know. Whatever it is we are having a bit of a Family get together which we haven’t had for a while. Just wish Amy was coming to be part of it!
I have enjoyed this week chilling with Sam and it just being the 2 of us but I can’t wait to see Lucy!
Until Next Time…
