So I came back to work today after a week at Caravan and as usual, came back to a magnitude of email and things to deal with. It’s always the same.
Having said that, what a week it was!
It’s always nice to get to caravan and just chill! I went out on Saturday after the game at New York which you can read about in an earlier post.
The biggest thing with The Caravan is that late nights turns into lie-ins for Sam and Lucy but I can’t stay in bed. I am up with the birds and wanting to do thing. I always get up and walk the dog every morning on the cliff top and to get the papers. This was another adventure one day which you can read about in the blog about it not being the best of days for Bella.
The week also comprised a couple of rounds of Golf and a golf fun day. I played OK and won a couple of prizes at the fun day which was nice.
The highlights of the week was definitely the Fun afternoon, with Laser Quest and the inflatable sweeper, and the evening in Bridlington.
The effort the new events team at the park go to is fantastic and the fun afternoon topped it off. Unfortunately the Laser Quest was for the kids but I can tell you that Lucy was raving about it and the queue was enough of a sign to back up her positive comments.
Then there was the sweeper! This consisted of an inflatable based with an arm that rotate and went higher or lower with the sole purpose of knocking you off your feet. Again, what a laugh this was even just watching. The sight of seeing people trying to jump and then literally doing summersaults and wiping out is brilliant. Of course no one got hurt in this but some looked decidedly close to injury.
Hope you like the photo’s
I am in the process of editing the video of this which I will add soon!
And here it is:
The evening in Bridlington was brilliant! Fish and chips on the front, Fairground rides, Hot Doughnuts and a seafront arcade! A stereotypically British Holiday.
Again a couple of highlights from the evening include Lucy and her friend looking decidedly pale of riding The Walter, Twister and top hat. Alison riding the twister as well was funny, although I am not sure she enjoyed it too much.
Finally, The best arcade I have ever been to houses the Grad National game. This is a game where you have a snooker ball and have to roll it up a slope to drop down a hole. The holes are worth 1, 2 or 3 moves. Dependant on what hole you get the ball down controls a mechanical horse above you. The idea is simple. Roll you ball, scores points and get your horse to the other side first to win! Simple but brilliant! If you are ever in Bridlington I recommend you have a go at John Ling Amusements!
What I write about regarding Far Grange, The Caravan and what we get up to out there, the reality is, it is all about the people. Thank you to all our friends out there for making our time there so memorable. You know who you are.
Until Next Time…
